SAMMY JO IS THE ANSWER

In 1997, DJ Sammy Jo took his first steps into a DJ booth at the legendary New York City nightclub "MOTHER" for his first ever nightlife venture. Expanding his playlist to include current dance music, Sammy Jo eventually met and collaborated with Jake Shears of the soon-to-be-formed SCISSOR SISTERS. The union worked so well, he was soon recruited as their official Tour DJ!

Since then Sammy Jo has been playing clubs throughout Europe on his own - creating a name for himself while also supporting the Scissor Sisters whenever they call on him. His solo ventures have brought him an abundance of good cred, especially amongst the mushrooming NY club kids scene, enabling him to share club nights with the likes of Fischerspooner, Princess Superstar, Junior Sanchez and Ron Carrol just to name a few. Drawing from all warps of the party sound, Sammy Jo flirts with the boundaries wherever he can and is most known for his criss-crossing between electro house and dark, danced-up disco.

Saturday 19th September sees Saturday @ family play host to it's annual S.L.A.P. night, featuring it's first ever international act, Delicious. What is S.L.A.P. you say? Delicious by name and delicious by looks. This Danish duo of she-DJ's has been active on the club scene since day one and have virtually DJ'd at every venue and event in their home country Denmark. They've held residencies in France, Germany and Switzerland and played regularly all over Europe, as well been a part of the Privilege Ibiza club tour, a Robbie Williams Club tour and latest Pacha Tours in Germany.

They soon picked up producing and have released tracks on some of the biggest labels in Europe, but their biggest success to date has been with the release of their own track "Bounce" on British heavyweight label CR2. Picked up and supported by the likes of Pete Tong, Nic Fanciulli, Dubfire, Erick Morillo and Yousef, it's no wonder this track was hailed as one of the biggest tracks of Summer 08/09!

SHARAM - IT'S IN HIS BLOOD

DJ, producer, label owner - Sharam Jey from Cologne, Germany, is a real allrounder. His Dj'ing started out as a part-time gig but soon turned into a passion when Sharam discovered his love for house & techno in the early 90s. His name has become an international synonym for music that just can't be categorized. Uplifting Funky sounds? Grooving Minimal tracks? Breax? Narrow, departmental thinking is definitely not Sharam’s thing. Remixing for the likes of Moby, Mylo, Faith No More, Faithless, Salt N Peppa, Warren G, Shiny Toy Guns and many more shows just how diverse he is. His new artist album will see guest appearances from Princess Superstar, Tommie Sunshine, Brixx, Dacia Bridges and Cornelia. Already released off the album is the new single "In My Blood" featuring Nick Valentino (The Lost Valentinos). Check out the new single and much more in the mix below!

JERRY DREW - WELL TRAVELLED!

Jerry Drew has shaken the walls of some of the world's most popular venues. Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Movida, Es Vive, Turnmills, Nikki Beach, The Cross, Via Notte as well as many others have all given him standing ovations. Alongside many of the top dj's of that era, Jerry rocked the scene with a big entrance into the world's music clique, when he promoted and played at his own nights (Bubblicious and Vanity Fayre) in the early 90's.

Jerrys style is not confined to one genre and he has a liking for a varied range of record labels from the twisted sounds of Freak 'n' Chic, Tsuba and Cocoon, to the uber cool house of Wagon Repair and Buzzin Fly, which is reflected in his set.

Over the past 6-12 months you might have walked into a club to experience something you have never felt before. Something wobbly and bubbly that hits your ears and instantly moves straight to the rest of your body, like a bass driven sucker-punch that won't let you stop moving.

There's a fairly good chance that this was one of HiJack's productions. He is known for making and pushing bouncy, funk-fuelled grooves with chunky beats and quirky hooks. His original sound fuses jacking House and Techno, with samples from all musical eras and genres.

I'M IN MIAMI, BITCH!

The enthusiasts out there will all know that the Winter Music Conference 2009 wrapped up last week in Miami. For the not-so-involved house music fan, the WMC is more or less a week or two of giant club/pool/beach parties where you will find all of the world's top DJ/producers getting loose and dropping a whole bunch of fresh as tunes!

Check out Axwell's roundup of the conference! Dirty South (an Aussie that we think is totally killing it right now) even gets a look in. He's been bunking with the House Mafia for the past 12 months and his Myspace is saying he will be back home very soon. WE CAN ONLY HOPE!

GROOVE TERMINATOR....HASTA LA VISTA!

Simon Lewicki, better known as Groove Terminator, or one half of Tonite Only, cemented himself at the forefront of Aussie dance music a few years back and decided to go global. Having started out as a radio host playing hip hop and early electro some of his early productions still had a thick ghetto edge. Exhibit A -



With a vast array of other successes shoved under his belt since then, he is now based in LA and is working on a new project; "JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE".
